Carmanah Supplies Airfield Lighting to the US Air Force

Carmanah's Solar LED Lighting Group has received an additional order from the US Air Force for a number of its A704-5 portable airfield lights. This solar-powered LED airfield lighting will be used as part of a wirelessly-controlled installation on a US Air Force base in the United States. Prior to using Carmanah's solar LED lighting technology, a rechargeable battery-based portable airfield lighting system was being used.

Carmanah Wins Light Contract

Victoria-based Carmanah Technologies Corp. has entered a supply agreement with the Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Portland, Ore., to provide more than 550 solar-powered LED bus shelter lighting systems. The supply agreement is valid from March 1 to Feb. 28, 2009. The district has an option to extend the contract for three more years. If fully exercised, the value of the deal is about $1.6 million. The district has been using Carmanah's unique i-Shelter solar-powered light-emitting-diode bus shelter lighting systems since 2004, when it retrofitted 52 systems to existing shelters along one of its frequent service lines. Carmanah's i-Shelter lighting systems are designed to operate without servicing for up to five years, at which point only battery replacement may be required. The district serves 1.3 million people and has ridership of 60 million passengers a year..

Carmanah Provides Solar Power Systems for Traffic Flow Monitoring in Florida

Carmanah's Power Systems Group has received an order for several units of its stand-alone fully-integrated MAPPS solar power systems from a Florida State roadways contracting company. These solar power systems will be deployed along Florida's Interstate Highways to operate remote sensing equipment that measure traffic flow. Data gathered from the monitoring equipment along the highway is available in real time on www.traffic.com, a website that offers drivers free, personalized traffic flow information via email, text message, or phone alerts so they can plan their trips accordingly.

Carmanah Provides Solar Power Systems to US Army in Kuwait

Carmanah's Power Systems Group has received an order for an initial 39 units of its stand-alone, fully-integrated MAPPS solar power systems to be installed at the US Army Base, Camp Arifjan, in Kuwait.
