Carmanah Wins 2003 Applied Energy Innovation Award

This annual award was presented by the CIE (BC) to recognize British Columbian energy companies that have converted energy-related innovation into business success.

Carmanah Supplies Additional Marine Lights to the Japanese Market

Carmanah has recently supplied a second order of Model 601 solar-powered LED marine lights to Taito Seiko Co. in Toyko Japan. Taito Seiko is one of the world's largest net and twine manufacturing companies, with their head office located in Tokyo, Japan. This recent purchase was for aquaculture cage perimeter lighting, which is a common application worldwide for Carmanah's fully self-contained solar marine lights.

Baghdad International Airport Installs Carmanah Aviation Lights

Baghdad International Airport (BIAP) has recently ordered 210 units of the Carmanah Model 601 for taxiway edge lighting and obstruction lighting for permanent installation at Iraq's primary International airport. As Carmanah's technology is solar-powered, the company can provide this additional lighting without tapping into the airport's existing power infrastructure.

Bagram Air Base Orders Additional Taxiway and Runway Edge Lighting

Bagram Air Base has ordered an additional 50 Carmanah Aviation Lights for permanent taxiway edge and runway edge lighting at the main U.S. Army / USAF Air Base in Afghanistan. Bagram Air Base is completely self sufficient with the use of more than 570 Carmanah Aviation Lights.

Japan Air Self Defence Force (ASDF) Installs Carmanah Aviation Lights

The Japan ASDF recently purchased 280 Carmanah Model 601 solar LED lights for taxiway and other lighting applications in Kuwait. The Japan ASDF are currently preparing their own hangar and taxiway at a Middle East air base for Japanese C-130 heavy transport planes to be used during the humanitarian and reconstruction efforts in Iraq. The Japan ASDF purchased Carmanah's lights based on positive feedback from the U.S.

US Air Force Lights Second Half of Balad Airfield, Iraq

The US Air Force will be installing an additional Carmanah 700 solar-powered LED Aviation Lights for the second phase of airfield lighting at the Balad Air Base in Iraq. Originally under the control of the US Army, Balad Air Base now operates under a shared airspace with the Air Force.

USAF Likes B.C. LEDs

A small Victoria-based company is lighting the way for U.S. forces and its allies, including Canada, in Afghanistan. Carmanah Technologies has supplied its technology-leading solar-powered LED (light-emitting diode) lighting system to the U.S. army for the strategic Bagram airbase north of the capital Kabul. The contract for the 520 lights was worth $266,000 and is a remarkable success story for a firm fast becoming a favourite supplier to the U.S.

US Air Force Installs Carmanah Taxiway Edge Lights at Ali Al Salem AFB, Kuwait

The US Air Force recently purchased an additional 700 Carmanah solar powered LED taxiway edge lights to be installed at Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait. The recent purchase is in addition to 300 units previously ordered. As well, an additional 280 taxiway edge lights were relocated from the now closed Al Jaber AFB.
