Patrick Hefferan, Eastern Sales Manager will be showcasing the Carmanah R920 Rectangular Rapid Flashing Crosswalk Beacon at booth 522. The R920 solar-powered Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon is a perfect fit with the meeting’s focus on Complete Streets design, multi-modal transportation access, and sustainable transportation solutions.

Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons have been the subject of multiple federal, state, and municipal-level research studies and have been shown to improve driver yield rates up to 96% in some locations.1 Representing an important part of the toolkit for professionals seeking to improve multi-modal transportation access in their communities, RRFBs have been included in pedestrian master plans and Complete Street guidelines in Chicago, Boston, and Philadelphia among others. Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons also appear in the National Association of City Transportation Officials (NACTO) Bike Design Guide, and have FHWA interim approval in states across the country.

Using solar power the Carmanah R920 provides the added benefit of a sustainable energy solution. Designed by one of the leading manufacturers of solar LED lighting solutions in the world, the Carmanah R920 provides an aesthetic form factor and technology that has proven its reliability in mission-critical applications around the world.
