Carmanah Receives Additional Order for Taxiway Lights from US Air Force

Carmanah's Solar LED Lighting Group has received an additional order from the US Air Force for 72 taxiway lights and corresponding mounting accessories. These lights are scheduled for installation at a remote training location in the continental United States. For this particular installation, the US Air Force required taxiway lighting at a remote landing area for covert and overt training operations.

Carmanah Receives Additional Order from US Marine Corps for Portable Airfield Lights

Carmanah has received and additional order from the USMC (US Marine Corps) for more than 600 units of its solar-powered LED portable airfield lights and related accessories. These units will be installed at a US air base in the Middle East. US airfields in the Middle East typically have no existing infrastructure or power sources to run traditional hard-wired airfield lighting.

Carmanah's Solar LED Group recently was a awarded a contract by the City of Mesa, Arizona, to supply a number of its i-SHELTERâ„¢ solar-powered LED bus shelter lighting systems. These i-SHELTERâ„¢ lighting systems will be installed throughout the city to provide additional security lighting in bus shelters and bus zones.

Carmanah Provides LED Edge-Lit Signs to a Harrah’s Property Hotel in Louisiana

Carmanah has received an order from Horseshoe Bossier City, a deluxe hotel in Louisiana, for over 50 units of its color changing table limit signs. The signs will be installed on various game tables throughout the hotel's casino. Horseshoe Bossier City, a Harrah's property, is 25 stories high and contains 606 luxurious suites.

Victoria, British Columbia, Canada - Tuesday, August 8, 2006 - Carmanah Technologies Corporation (TSX: CMH) is pleased to announce its second quarter results for the three and six months ended June 30, 2006 and 2005. Highlights for the quarter: Record Q2 2006 revenues of $15,844,155, representing a 142% increase over Q2 2005 and 25% over Q1 2006 at $12,693,769. Record 2006 year-to-date revenues at $28,537,924, representing a 151% increase over the same six-month period in 2005. Record Q2 2006 orders booked of $16,152,968. Sales order backlog of $6,681,294. Gross margin at 34% for Q2 2006 and for the six months ending June 30, 2006. Q2 2006 EBITA in the amount of $773,025, representing an increase of 503% over Q1 2006 at $128,249.
