Carmanah Strikes Green Deal with Monitor Maker

Carmanah Technologies Corp, a Victoria company known worldwide for its solar-powered marine, airport and highway lights, is stretching a green arm into the computer industry. NEC Displays Solutions of America unveiled Carmanah's new solar battery system for computer monitors this week at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Carmanah CEO Art Aylesworth called the partnership with Irving, Texas-based NEC Displays - a division of NEC Corp (NASDAQ:NIPNY) - as a strong breakthrough for solar power in consumer electronics.

Carmanah Provides Stand-Alone Solar Power Systems for GPS Monitoring in Washington State

Carmanah's Power Systems Group has received an order from a global manufacturer of GPS-based technology for 22 units of its proprietary MAPPS solar power systems. Carmanah's MAPPS solar power systems will power GPS equipment used for freeway bridge monitoring by the Washington Department of Transportation.

Carmanah's Solar LED Lighting Group is pleased to report that the Company's i-STOP® solar-powered LED bus stop has been successfully tested in accordance with the guidelines contained in the National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) Report 350, Recommended Procedures for the Safety Performance Evaluation of Highway Features. Published by the US Department of Transportation's Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), the NCHRP Report 350 was developed to subject roadside safety features to severe vehicle impact conditions through normalized test conditions. Carmanah Supplies Color-Changing Table Limit Signs to Harrah’s Group of Casinos
