Carmanah's Solar LED Lighting Group is pleased to report that the Company's i-STOP® solar-powered LED bus stop has been successfully tested in accordance with the guidelines contained in the National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) Report 350, Recommended Procedures for the Safety Performance Evaluation of Highway Features. Published by the US Department of Transportation's Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), the NCHRP Report 350 was developed to subject roadside safety features to severe vehicle impact conditions through normalized test conditions. Dockside’s Van Belleghem Wants Victoria to be Green Showcase

When Joe Van Belleghem first got into green building with the transformation of Glendale Hospital into the Vancouver Island Technology Park (VITP), he admits his "motives were not holistic. I just wanted to distinguish the product in the marketplace, to get some free press and publicity." But Van Belleghem found that creating environmentally benign structures made economic sense for the owner and the community-and at a personal level restored his interest in being a developer. Now, with a maturing vision of socially, environmentally and economically beneficial building design, Van Belleghem is the push behind the largest redevelopment in Victoria's history: Dockside Green, which at buildout will comprise 26 residential, retail, office and light industrial structures housing 2,500 people and totaling more than 1 million square feet on a 15-acre site which was a contaminated blight on the edge of the Inner Harbour for decades. Carmanah Provides London (UK) Taxi Stops with Solar-Powered Nighttime Illumination

Carmanah's Solar LED Lighting Group has recently provided 50 solar-powered lighting systems for use by the Public Carriage Office (PCO) in London, England, on newly designed taxi stops currently being installed throughout the city. The PCO is the body responsible for licensing taxis within the London metropolitan area.
