R247-G (Gen 3)
ITE-compliant, solar-powered 24-hour flashing beacon system with third-party device support
Flashing Beacon that can Exceed ITE Intensity 24 Hours a Day
The R247-G 24-Hour Flashing Beacon emits a continuous flash output that boosts the visibility of warning signs and stop signs. This cabinet-based 24-hour flasher has the solar panel on the top or side of the pole, and the batteries and EMS in a separate cabinet enclosure, allowing for more solar panel, battery, and mounting options. This beacon can be customized to your application requirements and the surrounding conditions. Sizing the system to meet ITE standards and other site-specific configurations and performance requirements is possible with this versatile solution.
The R247-G requires no trenching, cabling, or in-ground wiring, and it’s built to last: durable and dependable, this product comes with a 5-year warranty for peace of mind.
Three reasons to choose the R247-G:
- Multiple panels and battery sizes allow for high performance, meeting and even exceeding ITE intensity.
- Solar- and AC-powered versions available with support for up to four beacons and third-party devices.
- Prewired for Carmanah’s calendar software and customizable with third-party calendars.

LED Enhanced Signs
Along with the standard circular beacons, you can add an LED Enhanced Sign to the R247-G to further strengthen the message to drivers.
Wireless Beacon Control
The R838 Wireless Beacon Controller can be added to an R247-G installation to allow for remote control of the beacon flashing. Applications include emergency vehicle warning beacons, inspection station beacons and advance traffic warning beacon systems. Two activation models are available: momentary beacon flashing for a pre-configured number of seconds, or an alternate button model where the R247-G will flash indefinitely until the button is pressed again.
