Prime Minister Stephen Harper Speaks to Victoria’s Business Community

On May 26th 2006, Carmanah joined the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce in welcoming Canada's Prime Minister Stephen Harper. The Prime Minister addressed a sold out Chamber luncheon held at the Fairmont Empress Hotel in Victoria, British Columbia. During his remarks, Prime Minister Harper promised fixed election dates with four year terms and more MP seats for British Columbia.

Carmanah Gets Orders for LED Signs and Bus Stops

Carmanah Technologies has received a purchase order for CAN$1.6 million from the UK's Trueform Engineering Ltd. for the supply of additional solar LED-illuminated bus stops. These units are scheduled for installation throughout London, England, starting in early June 2006. "Carmanah is pleased to continue to provide the solar lighting for London Buses' solar illuminated bus stop project," states Carmanah's CEO, Art Aylesworth.

Carmanah has received an order for more than $200K from the US Navy to supply additional units of its proprietary MAPPS (Mobile Autonomous Photovoltaic Power Supply) systems for installation at the Smoky Hill Air National Guard Range in Saline County, KS. Carmanah's solar power systems are deployed within Air National Guard firing range to support computer and radar systems for tracking missles and other projectiles used at range.
