Prime Minister Stephen Harper Speaks to Victoria’s Business Community

On May 26th 2006, Carmanah joined the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce in welcoming Canada's Prime Minister Stephen Harper. The Prime Minister addressed a sold out Chamber luncheon held at the Fairmont Empress Hotel in Victoria, British Columbia. During his remarks, Prime Minister Harper promised fixed election dates with four year terms and more MP seats for British Columbia.

Art Aylesworth will bring energy to the Saanich Peninsula Chamber of Commerce luncheon next week. Aylesworth, Chief Executive Officer of Carmanah Technologies Corporation, brings his knowledge of solar energy to the June 1 luncheon at Mary Winspear Centre. "He's a guy who's done a very good job at building a business that had its genesis out here," said Reg Mooney, new manager at Peninsula Chamber of Commerce.

Carmanah Gets Orders for LED Signs and Bus Stops

Carmanah Technologies has received a purchase order for CAN$1.6 million from the UK's Trueform Engineering Ltd. for the supply of additional solar LED-illuminated bus stops. These units are scheduled for installation throughout London, England, starting in early June 2006. "Carmanah is pleased to continue to provide the solar lighting for London Buses' solar illuminated bus stop project," states Carmanah's CEO, Art Aylesworth.

Carmanah Receives Ongoing Contract for Proprietary Extreme Batteries with the US Federal Government

Carmanah's Solar Power Systems Group has received an ongoing contract from the US Federal Government for its proprietary "Extreme" brand 12-volt, 112 amp/hour gel batteries. These high quality, maintenance-free batteries are being installed in remote heavy snow management areas of the US Rocky Mountains to provide reliable power for communications and emergency signals.

Carmanah’s Proprietary Solar Power Selected for Security Installation

Carmanah's Power Systems Group has received an order from Volpe Industries for a 64 watt/24 volt MAPPS (Modular Autonomous Photovoltaic Power Supply) system. The system will be installed at a solar-powered security site in Seekonk, Massachusetts. Volpe Industries, a leader in IP (Information Protocol) Video technology, uses the Internet to provide affordable, global surveillance security and solutions to virtually any location.

Carmanah Provides Solar-Powered LED Aviation Lights for Chicago O’Hare International Airport

Carmanah has received an order from the Chicago O'Hare International Airport for A601 solar-powered LED red barricade lights. These units will be installed at various locations at the airport, which presently already uses several of Carmanah's aviation lights as part of its O'Hare Modernization Program.

Carmanah Supplies US Navy with Integrated Solar Power Systems

Carmanah has received an order for more than $200K from the US Navy to supply additional units of its proprietary MAPPS (Mobile Autonomous Photovoltaic Power Supply) systems for installation at the Smoky Hill Air National Guard Range in Saline County, KS. Carmanah's solar power systems are deployed within Air National Guard firing range to support computer and radar systems for tracking missles and other projectiles used at range.
