Carmanah Announces Release Date for 2010 Q2 Financial Results and Conference Call

Carmanah Solar LED Lighting illuminates a bus stop in LA City

The City of LA is trialing two Carmanah EverGEN 1710 solar LED lighting systems in consideration for use in future lighting projects. The solar LED lighting systems have been installed to provide illumination at a busy city bus stop near the LA City Department of Public Works Office Complex.

Carmanah Provides Solar LED Lighting for Bridge Lighting Project

VICTORIA, BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA (July 28, 2010) -- Carmanah Technologies Corporation is providing 26 EverGEN 1710 solar LED lighting units to illuminate the Selkirk Trestle Bridge in Victoria, BC. The units will run the length of the 300 meter long railway trestle bridge and will provide illumination for pedestrians and cyclists who use this significant commuter corridor.   The EverGEN 1710 units will incorporate Advanced Occupancy Sensing, leading edge occupancy sensing technology that is not offered by any other light on the market.

1,000 Additional Carmanah/Sabik Solar LED Lanterns to Mark Pilings Along Gulf Intracoastal Waterway

Carmanah/Sabik has received an additional order for solar LED marine lanterns to mark intracoastal waterways as a result of the Gulf oil spill. The order, placed through American Fire & Safety, the Carmanah/Sabik authorized distributor in Louisiana, is for one thousand yellow Carmanah/Sabik M650 solar LED marine lanterns. The lights will be used to mark pilings along the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway from Texas to Florida and will help improve navigational safety in areas of increased inland waterway traffic.  Recently awarded standing offers by the Canadian Coast Guard for 1.5 and 2 nautical mile applications, the Carmanah/Sabik M650 has been enthusiastically received by the marine aids-to-navigation market since the product's mid-2009 launch.

Carmanah Launches New Online Application for Solar LED Lighting

The tool will allow users to explore different solutions and produce full technical specifications for the Carmanah EverGEN solar LED lighting systems that fit their specific lighting applications. Carmanah Awarded $1.5 Million Solar PV Contract by Town of Markham

VICTORIA, BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA (July 7, 2010) - Carmanah Technologies Corp. has been awarded a $1.5 million (CAD) contract by the Town of Markham, Ontario to supply, install, and commission a 250 kW solar photovoltaic grid-tie system. The system will be installed on the Town's newly re-located Emergency Operation Centre. The project is being funded by a combination of Markham's own capital budget money and infrastructure stimulus funds provided through a funding partnership with the governments of Canada and Ontario.

DOT Sees Promise in Using Solar, LED Lights at Airstrips

RALEIGH - State transportation officials are scouting out general aviation airports in North Carolina from which they will pick one for a pilot project that would introduce enough new solar-power generation to power the facility's airfield lights. Depending on how the test goes, such systems could be introduced at other general aviation airports throughout the state, says Richard Walls, director of the Aviation Division of the N.C.

Carmanah/Sabik Marine Lanterns Receive New Coast Guard Certification

Carmanah Technologies Corporation was recently granted a letter of compliance by the United States Coast Guard (USCG) for PATON 33 CFR Part 67 for Carmanah/Sabik M701-5 and M702-5 solar LED marine lanterns for structures on Class C designated waters, as well as for its M704-5 and M708 lanterns for Class B and Class C designated waters. According to USCG lantern performance specifications, Private Aids to Navigation (PATON lanterns) are divided into two categories, Part 66 and Part 67, according to the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) volume 33.

Lighting the Way

VICTORIA - A local company is supplying self-powered, solar LED marine lanterns to mark oil spill containment booms in the Gulf of Mexico. Through its Carmanah/Sabik marine partnership, Carmanah Technologies is working with its Houston-based manufacturing partner, Flextronics, to fast-track production and delivery several thousand additional lights. Carmanah's CEO Ted Lattimore says the M650 LED lights are being attached to containment booms to show mariners what to avoid and mark which channels are open.
