Carmanah has been contracted by the Burlington Alamance Regional Airport in Burlington, North Carolina, to supply 46 Model A601 solar-powered LED blue lens taxiway lights. This order also includes a range of accessories, such as stake mounting systems, base mounts, couplings and floor flanges.
With as many as 107 flights per day, Burlington Alamance Regional Airport was reluctant to run electrical cables through its airfield and disrupt its daily operations. Airport officials therefore considered Carmanah’s solar-powered LED lighting solution and consulted with Carmanah’s existing clients, including Truckee Tahoe Airport, who are currently operating using Carmanah’s products. Based on positive feedback received, Burlington Alamance Regional Airport decided to purchase Carmanah’s aviation lights due to their reliable, durable and flexible design.
Carmanah’s solar LED airfield lighting is an extremely cost-effective alternative to hard-wired systems, as there is no trenching, cabling or site remediation. Installation takes a fraction of the time and the lights are designed to be largely maintenance-free for up to 5 years. For general aviation airports, there is little disruption to operations during the installation and the airport can quickly increase nighttime safety for their customers.
